Back pain is very common. That is why it is a central topic in the work of Schulthess Klinik, both in the treatment of its patients and in its research. A joint research project in this field in collaboration with ETH Zurich is now being supported by ETH’s renowned «Personalized Health and Related Technology» (PHRT) funding programme.
As early as the first few days after surgery, conscious breathing helps to stabilise circulation and promote healing. Breathing therapy is therefore an important part of inpatient rehabilitation at Schulthess Klinik. It supports lung function, prevents complications and contributes to general well-being.

Daniel Herren, Head of Hand Surgery at Schulthess Klinik, has now been awarded the title of “Giant of Hand Surgery” – only the second Swiss hand surgeon ever to receive this accolade.
The Hemmi-Stiftung foundation has awarded the Research Award 2021 to D Zina-Mary Manjaly, Schulthess Klinik’s Senior Consultant in Neurology. Dr Manjaly’s award-winning work is designed to lay the foundations for future procedures for diagnosing multiple sclerosis. Congratulations, Dr Manjaly!
