Schulthess Klinik consolidates its position as a leading international specialist clinic

Schulthess Klinik can look back on a successful 2025 with further consolidation of its position as a leading international specialist hospital. The focus here is on the proven interplay between the foundation, the hospital and research. This system enables the continuous further development of orthopaedics and has ensured the high quality of treatment for many years now.

More patients treated

In the reporting year, 9,295 inpatients were treated and 135,618 outpatient consultations were held. In total, doctors performed 11,123 operations. The case mix index of 1.272 underscores the high complexity of the treatments. Turnover amounted to CHF 221 million.

Research as a key success factor

As a foundation, Schulthess Klinik makes targeted investments into its own research. In 2025, around 40 scientists worked on projects to further develop treatment concepts and published 141 scientific papers.

Internationally recognised and networked

In 2025, Schulthess Klinik was once again one of the world's best orthopaedic hospitals. In the ranking published by Newsweek and Statista, it ranked second in Europe and sixth worldwide. Important partnerships, such as with Charité Berlin and the Hospital for Special Surgery, contribute to the further development of treatment methods and to strengthening research.

Attractive employer

The clinic employs 1,221 people and was once again named one of the best employers in the healthcare sector (11th place). 92.5% of employees recommend Schulthess Klinik to others.
