The Nursing department team consists of 188 colleagues with 128 full-time positions from five professional groups. The patient is always at the centre of the team’s daily activities. Shared values, a cross-departmental team spirit and continuing training enable the staff to take best possible care of the patients in the five in-patient departments.

Last year, Nursing Services focused on the task of ensuring sufficient staff resources to care for our patients. Thanks to the exceptional dedication of our staff and the support of partner companies providing temporary staff, we were able not only to guarantee this care, but also to provide the care to the high standard that we strive for and expect for our patients.

Shared values as a foundation

Patienten immer im Mittelpunkt
With shared values and commitment, we always put patients first.

This is only possible if we live these shared values, which form the foundation of our daily actions. Our Nursing department cares for our patients in a personalised, professional, interdisciplinary and future-focused manner. This is not merely written our nursing mission statement – it is a reality of daily life in the clinic. The “Schulthess spirit” is palpable across the various departments, promotes cohesion and ensures colleagues enjoy their work.

This strong foundation made it possible to maintain operations throughout the year without reducing capacity.

Continuing education in motion

Nursing Services also made an important step forwards in terms of improving care processes. The development and application of evidence-based knowledge in the field of nursing is a continuous and sizable challenge. That is why we have joined VAR Healthcare, a knowledge database of evidence-based, practical recommendations for inpatient and outpatient care. We can now exchange information with an international network of nursing care researchers and incorporate the latest findings into our nursing processes.

The Board of Management and the Board of Trustees made some generous and employee-oriented decisions which meant we were once again able to significantly improve employment conditions for our employees. In addition to the excellent working environment for nurses, we now offer a consistent and highly attractive general package to our employees.
