Research funds

Get involved in the future of medicine.

Are you passionate about science and research? This is exactly what inspires the Schulthess research team. As Wilhelm Schulthess once did, the team focuses on scientific further training, research and development in the field of orthopaedics. And just like him, we strive for the very best in each treatment so that the musculoskeletal system treatment can continue to improve and become safer.

For more than 100 years, the Schulthess Klinik has been there for people with injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. In addition, the clinic trains medical students, doctors, and medical personnel according to the latest standards.

Our research activities continuously provide us with new insights into the treatment of orthopaedic patients. The research teams work closely with the doctors in the clinical practice. This way, the patients benefit from the scientific findings that are integrated directly in the clinical routine. We share our knowledge with our colleagues in Switzerland and abroad through publications, teaching activities, and cooperation. We want to continuously advance the possibilities in orthopaedic medicine. This ensures that patient treatment always gets better.

With your donation, you are directly supporting the scientific further training, research and development in the field of orthopaedics. The latest scientific findings directly benefit our patients and many others around the world. In other words: Your donation does not just result in theoretical findings but brings practical benefits for all our patients and many others in clinics around the world.

Patient assistance fund

Help people get medical care who otherwise do not have access to it.

Imagine you need urgent medical help and no one is there for you – no insurance, no government, no support organisation. A nightmare. And a time in which the patient assistance fund of the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation can provide great relief.

From dread to a solution

The patient assistance fund of the Wilhelm Schulthess Foundation supports patients from Switzerland and abroad in need of complex medical treatment the costs of which cannot be covered either by the patient themselves or by a state or another support organisation or in any other way. In particular, we help children from war zones with injuries and diseases requiring surgery. To do this, we work together with Friedensdorf International.

«Finally like the other children, without crutches!»

For three years, the 10-year-old Miro from Italy could not run or jump. A paediatric femoral joint disease was the cause. Today, Miro’s is already looking forward to being able to move normally again soon and play with his friends because of the positive outcome of the surgery at the Schulthess Klinik with the support of the patient assistance fund.
